Master Distiller Larry Ebersold

Larry Ebersold is the "Godfather of Rye Whiskey." Quietly working behind the scenes at the Seagrams facility now known as MGP,  he is responsible for crafting the whiskeys that launched the American craft whiskey boom. Mr.Ebersold worked in the Lawrenceburg, Indiana distillery from 1972 until his retirement in 2010.  When the American whiskey boom took off in the early 2000's, much of what was on the market for sale under new product labels was actually made under his supervision in Indiana.

With his Masters Degree in Chemical Engineering from the University of Louisville, Mr. Ebersold's technical talents gave him a strong appreciation for process within a distillery. The nuances involved in successful fermentation and the quality in production of new make spirit are of utmost importance. Today, his consultations with new distilleries focus on
"Distillery Process Optimization."

Larry has helped guide the foundation of spirits' development for distilleries like Sagamore Spirit in Baltimore, Maryland, New Riff Distillery in Newport, Kentucky and Rabbit Hole Distillery in Louisville, Kentucky.
